Unveiling the Shirley Home

Writer: Urban Core VenturesUrban Core Ventures

Surely, the Shirley Home will be ready soon to host your next event.

We started this venture in August 2018, preserving and transporting the gorgeous Oak Bay home on a barge to its new home in Shirley, BC.

At Urban Core, we are all about housing preservation. It’s a way of recycling at a large scale -  maintaining the historical value of the home, while also protecting the land the house was built on. Instead of demolishing the home and possibly doing damage to the environment, we moved it, while at the same time preserving the history and sentiment tied to this house.

After pouring new foundations, the Shirley Home will open shortly to accept visitors in a pristine new location.

Shirley BC offers the best of West Coast adventuring. With extensive hiking trails, provincial and heritage parks, surfing beaches, fishing and more, the Shirley Home is in an easy, convenient (and not to mention stunning) location for you to get everything you want out of your next trip.

Positioned right at the water, it’s the perfect venue for any event.

The Shirley Home will be open soon to the public for vacation rentals, weddings and large events. Stay tuned to our Instagram and Facebook for the official open date.

Special thanks to Pridy Brothers House Moving, Pacific Industrial Marine, North Arm Transportation, Victoria Tug and Barge, RKM Crane, and Advantage Crane for helping make this move a success.
